Versa has continued our leadership in the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) market for the second year in a row. This is not surprising as Versa continues to invest significantly in R&D, sales, and marketing, demonstrating its strength in the ability to execute and completeness of vision.
Versa continues to accelerate our success with both innovative product initiatives and pervasive customer deployments. Versa was granted our 15th patent for SASE and customers have been reporting an 80% reduction in costs when deploying Versa SASE. Investors such as Sequoia Capital are also confident in the continued growth of Versa Networks as they and others invested in the most recent Series D funding of $84 million which is being put towards accelerating new go-to-market strategies, launching new sales and partner enablement initiatives, and addressing new markets to further cement Versa’s leadership position in the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) market.
Gartner announced that Versa Networks is once again a Leader in the Magic Quadrant WAN Edge Infrastructure report. WAN Edge Infrastructure is defined as “products and associated functions that provide network connectivity across the WAN” that includes “incumbent and emerging vendors from adjacent markets (e.g., routing, security, WAN optimization and SD-WAN), each bringing differentiators and limitations. It also includes zero trust network access (ZTNA) functionality for remote workers in lieu of traditional virtual private network (VPN) solutions as part of SASE, which combines SD-WAN and cloud security into an integrated, orchestrated architecture.” 1
According to Gartner, “The impacts of COVID-19 have made remote worker access critical for ongoing business operation. In this market, WAN edge vendors now offer support for remote workers as part of their WAN edge solution. This capability has moved from an occasional request to a frequent differentiator when evaluating suppliers. We are seeing this move away from remote VPN and extending the SD-WAN fabrics directly to remote workers or with zero trust network access (ZTNA). Few vendors have native ZTNA offerings, and even fewer have them integrated with SD-WAN orchestration.”1
We believe this recent recognition is on back of a record year for the company, where the growth of the remote workforce due to the COVID-19 pandemic saw organizations across the world accelerate their digital transformation initiatives and turn to flexible and secure solutions such as SD-WAN and SASE to address their networking and security needs. As a result, Versa Networks has seen our worldwide sales in enterprises and channel partner registrations double, increased our workforce by 25 percent, and grew our market share to 150 service providers, including seven of the world’s top 10.
Versa has been continuously executing to deliver Versa SASE to customers globally via the cloud, on-premises, or as a blended combination of both.
