Gartner® Gives Strategic Roadmap to Achieving SASE for 2022 and Beyond

In the 2022 Strategic Roadmap for SASE Convergence Report published by Gartner, key findings and strategic guidance are given on how organizations can achieve a consolidated SASE architecture.

Gartner estimates that by 2025, 80% of enterprises will have adopted a strategy to unify web, cloud services, and private application access using SASE up from 20% in 2021.

By 2025, 50% of SD-WAN purchases will be part of a single vendor SASE offering, up from less than 10% in 2021.

Single Vendor SASE

We believe the adoption of SASE with a core foundation on SD-WAN delivered through a single vendor offering is aligned with Versa predictions since our company’s conception.

In the short term, Gartner advises organizations to move off legacy WAN infrastructure into cloud-centric models that allow for scalability and flexibility. In addition, Gartner advocates that point solutions are inadequate to address security challenges and evaluate different SASE implementation approaches.

In the longer term, Gartner encourages organizations toward vendor consolidation and the creation of a dedicated team of both security and networking experts. Covering both on-premises and cloud vulnerabilities, organizations should look to combine zero trust network access with SASE for consistent policy enforcement and select vendors that give them the most visibility and control.
