2026 SASE Platform Evolution Survey

Futuriom surveyed 144 enterprise IT, security, and networking executives (CxO and director-level) in August 2026 to gauge how SASE platforms are fitting into their current plans and priorities.

Respondents overwhelmingly showed strong interest in pursuing consolidation of vendors, management consoles, policies, telemetry, and analytics. But the survey response data reflects a diversity of broader goals and strategies in pursuing SASE platforms in order to accomplish this, and makes clear the different stages organizations are at in their SASE journey.

What You'll Learn

The survey results capture how your peers at organizations are currently thinking about a range of topics relevant to their SASE platform implementation, including (as examples):

  • the perceived risks of consolidating security and networking tools onto a single platform
  • the main benefits motivating their interest in a consolidated SASE platform
  • their preferences for pursuing a single SASE platform vs a multi-vendor architecture vs maintaining a best-of-breed philosophy
  • the technical capabilities in a SASE platform that they value the most
  • the various motivations for their organization's SASE strategy and the desired outcomes over a 1-3 year period
  • to what degree maintaining or achieving digital sovereignty is a requirement for their SASE implementation
