Versa Networks Launches Versa Titan, a Cloud-Managed Service for Easy WAN Transformation

San Jose, Calif., April 10, 2019

Versa Networks, innovator of the Secure Cloud IP platform, today announced the availability of Versa Titan, a cloud-managed SD-WAN branch and security solution that simplifies the complexity associated with wide-area network transformation. Versa Titan makes it easier for managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver secure SD-WAN and for enterprises to buy, design, deploy and operate WAN infrastructure, accelerating their digital transformation strategies and improving business performance. Versa Titan delivers easy-to-use SD-WAN and software-defined security management tools that enhance visibility into security vulnerabilities, application behavior, network performance and bandwidth utilization.

Versa Titan is available through certified Versa Titan partners as a cloud-managed service, incorporating all core functionality of Versa Secure Cloud IP, Versa’s fully integrated, cloud native, contextually-aware software stack. Enterprise IT and managed services are simplified with cloud-based SD-WAN and security services managed and activated with a web browser and mobile-app. These services incorporate advanced IT service automation for the enterprise WAN-edge infrastructure with integrated in-depth customer support.

Versa Titan also brings to market the Versa Cloud Services Gateway (CSG), a Versa-branded appliance series that combines innovative hardware for high-performing advanced SD-WAN and security capabilities. Versa CSG runs Versa’s FlexVNF software stack as a branch office endpoint appliance with integrated enterprise-class LTE, Wi-Fi and PoE to further simplify and improve the customer experience as organizations transition to multi-cloud and hybrid-WAN infrastructures.

Enterprises have a myriad of options for buying and deploying solutions for their next generation WAN, such as those that large internal IT teams are opting to pursue as an on-premise DIY (do-it-yourself) model that often relies on integrating best-of-breed solutions into a custom design. Other organizations that have a large national or global footprint, are opting for a managed service from their telecom circuits provider. However, for a large number of mid-market enterprises that do not have sufficient internal IT resources with the requisite expertise, they are looking for a cloud-managed service like Versa Titan that they prefer to procure from a cloud provider, master sales agent or sub-agent, or a local VAR or systems integrator.

Features and Functionality

Versa Titan streamlines branch and WAN networking and security management via a web browser or mobile app, for a truly simplified, end-to-end, secure SD-WAN business experience. Versa Titan transforms how SD-WAN is bought, sold and operated, removing the barriers of integration and making it fast and simple for partners to offer new high-margin services with minimal time to revenue, and for businesses to realize the benefits of software-based networking and security as they move to the cloud or embark on digital transformation initiatives. Versa Titan delivers high performance advanced SD-WAN and next-generation security in an easy to buy, deploy, manage and sell package that delivers:

  • Improved bandwidth utilization, reliability and efficacy via automated multi-link WAN load balancing
  • Enhanced business productivity and services continuity though dynamic application prioritization
  • Enhanced business-edge protection using advanced security and malware protection
  • Improved flexibility and wireless access reliability leveraging dual LTE and Wi-Fi
  • Robust network threat and vulnerability detection and exploit prevention via next generation intrusion prevention

As SD-WAN deployments scale from early adopters to mainstream enterprise deployments, many organizations are exploring ways that management of remote and branch offices can be further simplified. Instead of just looking for an SD-WAN point product, enterprises are opting for solutions that offer integration of multiple services into a unified platform that can be managed with a cloud interface. The buying criteria include:

  • Foundational/”table-stakes” SD-WAN capabilities: Multi-link connectivity (transport independent); centralized user and policy-based controller; role-based access controls (RBACs); per-segment and per-tenant routing; dynamic path selection, secure access, SaaS optimization; and deep real-time and historical visibility analytics
  • Integration of multiple functions – including routing, SD-WAN, security, Wi-Fi and LTE all in a fully automated and programmable fashion
  • A centralized management platform for configuration with Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP)
  • Simplified management and support: Cloud management, single pane of glass for the network, branch devices and services with a simplified user experience to rapidly deploy new sites or services from a web portal or other means; built-in tools for help and community support as well as opening/tracking trouble tickets.
Executive Quotes:

“We are thrilled to be the 1st master agent working directly with Versa to bring their secure SD-WAN solution and Versa Titan direct to the Trusted Advisor channel community. SD-WAN is the most disruptive technology to hit the WAN world in decades, and the pace of adoption is accelerating,” said Drew Lydecker, President and Co-Founder of AVANT. “For years, AVANT has been a leader in offering SD-WAN solutions to the agent channel. We are excited to add Versa to our platform for IT decision making and channel sales enablement methodology.”

“The complexity of traditional WAN infrastructure is cumbersome, performance inhibiting and counterproductive to fueling digital transformation. With limited ability to secure multi-device, mobile and IoT-centric networks, legacy WAN infrastructure restricts the ability to harness the advantages of cloud,” said Rob Mustarde, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Versa Networks. “Versa Titan enables businesses to unleash the power and performance of a secure SD-WAN infrastructure without the added costs, complexity and footprint of legacy networking solutions.”
