Versa Networks, a leading innovator of next-generation software-based networking and security solutions, today announced that Robert McBride, head of product marketing, will participate in a panel discussion about the network’s evolution in the cloud age at the SD-WAN Expo, taking place February 14-16 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In addition, Versa Networks will exhibit its award-winning Cloud IP Platform at the show (booth #230).
What: “Network Evolution in the Cloud Age” will explore how the increased use of and reliance upon cloud applications and resources are forcing organizations to rethink traditional WAN architectures and their use of MPLS as a transport mechanism. This session will discuss the four main drivers forcing businesses to migrate to next-generation WANs and best practices for making the transition: multi-tenant branches, agility, capacity and cloud user experience. Where: Ft. Lauderdale County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316, Booth # 230
When: Wednesday, February 14, 2018, 10 a.m.-10:55 a.m. ET
Who: Rob McBride is the head of product marketing at Versa Networks, responsible for Versa’s software-defined-solutions portfolio – SD-WAN, SD-Security and SD-Branch. McBride has spent the last 15-plus years designing, introducing and marketing a wide range of solutions and products in the areas of SDN/NFV, SD-WAN, Voice (TDM/VoIP), and DC virtualization. He has a wide range of experience and has held senior roles in sales engineering, field support, product management and marketing. Prior to Versa Networks, McBride held senior positions at Brocade Communications, Enterasys Networks, Alcatel-Lucent and Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS).
Why: The networking industry is currently in a major transformation. The delivery of networking services was once the exclusive domain of fixed, proprietary hardware appliances. Today, however, software, combined with major advances in commodity x86 architectures and virtualization, has ushered in a new era in networking. Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) is currently disrupting the enterprise-branch connectivity services industry; its simplicity and automation are helping enterprises improve end users’ experience of applications and address security issues as they accelerate their multi-cloud and SaaS transformation.
