Route Distinguisher (RD)
Route Distinguisher (RD) – A BGP/MPLS-VPN value attached to a route to make otherwise-identical prefixes from different sites or VRFs unique in MP-BGP; configuring a unique RD per CPE in a dual-homed branch improves best-path convergence and simplifies troubleshooting.
