Policy-Based Forwarding (PBF) – A VOS mechanism that forwards packets according to configured policy rules rather than solely by routing-table lookup, matching traffic on Layer 3 through Layer 7 criteria and steering it to a specified next hop, such as a WAN interface, GRE tunnel, or SD-WAN next hop.
